Brilliant Daytime Emmy Award statue issued to Bob Keeshan as Executive Producer of ''Captain Kangaroo''. Keeshan won the category of ''Outstanding Children's Entertainment Series'' at the ceremony recognizing the 1981-1982 television season. He had produced and starred as the grandfatherly title character since the show was green-lit by CBS in 1955. In addition to this category, Keeshan won Outstanding Performer in Children's Programming this same year, and again in 1983 and the show's last year, 1984. The iconic winged woman holding an atom stands on the convex, grid-lined surface of a round metal base, plated in 18-karat gold. The base's perimeter reads ''The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences''. Front section is engraved with 5 lines naming the award, its category and recipient: ''1981-1982 DAYTIME EMMY AWARD / Outstanding Children's Entertainment Series / CAPTAIN KANGAROO / CBS / Robert Keeshan, Executive Producer''. Measures 15'' in total height with a 7.5'' diameter base. Weighs 6 lbs., 5.5 oz. Emmy sticker affixed to felt bottom names Emblem & Badge of Providence, Rhode Island as manufacturer of the statue. Scattered nicks and scratches, else near fine.
