Famous Captain Kangaroo red jacket wardrobe ensemble, screen-worn by the Captain, Bob Keeshan. Lot includes (1) iconic fire-engine red jacket, among the first of its kind when the Captain switched in 1971 from an earlier navy blue suit. Single-breasted jacket was custom made by John F. Kennedy's tailor Chipp New York & New Haven, and features bright brass buttons and white braided cord trim along the edges of lapels and pockets. Approximate size 34. Inside label has ''Robert Keeshan'' printed and the date listed as 2 April 1971, with ''III'' notated in ink. (2) Charcoal grey wool Chipp New York slacks in size 36; (3) Grey silk men's necktie with sewn microphone hole by Paul Stuart New York; (4) Pink long-sleeved button-up Chipp shirt with ''CK'' hand printed on inside collar; (5) Black saddle leather belt in size 40. Near fine.
