Physicist Max Born typed letter signed ''M. Born'', dated 1 November 1945. Letter is addressed to scientist Marcus Goodall and mentions Albert Einstein. Reads in part: ''...thank you for sending me the letter you have received from Einstein, which I return herewith. I have tried to read your paper, but I cannot say that I have succeeded in understanding your meaning...'' Letter has been torn from top to bottom in four places (perhaps by Goodall?), though archivally repaired. Born's signature, however, is unaffected. Fair condition.
