Prince William and Kate (nee Middleton), Duke and Duchess of Cambridge piece of royal wedding cake. Piece was cut from the eight-tier cake designed by Fiona Cairns for the couple's 29 April 2011 wedding. The ceremony took place at Westminster Abbey in London, with the reception following at Buckingham Palace. Broadcast globally, the nuptials garnered viewership in the tens of millions. Cake comes neatly wrapped in waxed paper, measuring 3'' x 2.25'' x 1.5''. Relatively heavy slice is stored inside an elegant cream and gilt tin bearing William and Kate's combined royal cyphers and wedding date on the lid. Tin measures 5.5'' x 4.25'' x 2''. Accompanied by a compliments card with print reading in full, ''With best wishes / from / TRH The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall / in celebration of the wedding / of / TRH The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge''. Print to verso reads, ''The specially commissioned tin was / designed by / Peter Windett and Sally Mangum. / Manufactured by / Crown Speciality Packaging UK Limited.'' Verso is stamped with the number 800136. Measures 4.75'' x 3.5''. Fine. A very special memento from the wedding of the century.
