He ruled on behalf of his father King George III from the onset of the King's mental illness until his death. Document issues a patent to Donald Cummings of Whitefield for his invention of a ''Machine for reaping and cutting corn, grass and other Articles.'' 3pp. document on card-style stationery bears a ''One Pound / Ten Shillings'' seal embossed to the left edge.
