Royal document signed by Thailand's last absolute monarch, Prajadhipok, as King Rama VII of Siam. Dated 11 March 1931, it establishes the staffing policies of the Royal Department of Agriculture, and also indicates that world-renowned botanist Dr. A.F.G. Kerr, Director-General of Inspection for the Royal Department of Agriculture, wishes to resign. Issued at the Royal Amphorn Sathan Palace in Bangkok. Prajadhipok was a proponent of democracy for his country, but his vision was ahead of its time and he was ultimately ousted from power by the People's Party, abdicating the throne in 1935. Single page document on heavy card-style stationery is printed in purple ink, signed in blue, and features a gilt seal. Measures 8'' x 13''. Toning, file holes to left and a notation to the bottom, else near fine condition.
