Herbert Hoover signed silver gelatin photo. Signed ''Herbert Hoover'' in black ink along the mat beneath the portrait. Hoover appears to be quite young, as his hair is not yet silvered. Photo was taken by the Underwood & Underwood studios of New York as a chest length portrait depicting a stern-faced Hoover, who looks more like a Hollywood gangster than future President. Photo measures 7.25'' x 9.25'' and is affixed to a mat measuring 10'' x 12.75''. One small bend to bottom left corner, else near fine.
