Tintype civil war photo identified to William H. Cochrane, 6th Maine Infantry, Company D. William H. Cochrane mustered into the 6th Maine Infantry on 15 July 1861. The regiment was engaged at Yorktown, Lee's Mills, Williamsburg, Garnett's Farm, White Oak Bridge, Antietam, Fredericksburg, Rappahannock Station, Wilderness and Spotsylvania. On 10 May 1863 after the 6th Maine fought at Chancellorsville, Cochrane deserted his regiment. Image measures 2.5'' x 4''. Overall very good condition.
