Original World War II press photo dated 6 June 1944 of four American soldiers from the 82nd Airborne Division, 308th Regiment. Information sheet stapled to photo states that they were given V-Mail blanks to write their final letters home before departing Saltby, England to take part in D-Day, which they knew they might not survive. The 10'' x 8'' black and white glossy photo has two staples, else fine.
