General George Marshall autograph letter signed, dated December 1949, on a personal note card with five star motif. Marshall, who had been Secretary of State and would become Secretary of Defense in 1950, sends season's greetings to Undersecretary of State and future NASA Administrator James Webb. The note, written on both sides of a 6'' x 4'' card, reads in part: ''...This carries my Xmas greetings to you with my regard and friendship...'' The General signs: ''G Marshall''. Minor toning, else near fine.
