First edition of ''Arms and the Covenant,'' a collection of speeches, mostly from the 1930's by the 20th Century statesman Winston Churchill, compiled by son Randolph Churchill. Published by George G. Harrap & Co., Ltd.: London: 1938. Inscription reads: ''Inscribed by / Winston S. Churchill / November 1938'' written on a 5'' x 8'' sheet affixed to the front free endpaper. 466pp. hardcover book is in original publisher's blue cloth with gilt lettering. Some fading, foxing and toning throughout, especially title page. Very good condition overall.
