Official invitation to Sir Winston Churchill's 80th birthday ceremony held on 30 November 1954 at Westminster Hall. Front of card is embossed with the Parliamentary crest and reads in part: ''Presentation to the Right Honourable Sir Winston Leonard Spencer-Churchill...on his 80th Birthday''. Inside of card lists order of ceremony, including a speech by Churchill, in which he famously said during the televised procession: ''...I am now nearing the end of my journey...I hope I still have some service to render...'' With an additional ''Admit One'' ticket to the event in a ''platform center'' seat. Card-style invitation on 3pp. measures 5.25'' x 8.25''; ''admit one'' ticket measures 7.25'' x 5.25''. Minor toning and paperclip rust residue to inside of card, else near fine.
