Captivating signed photo of Queen Alexandra of Denmark. As wife of King Edward VII, Alexandra became queen-empress consort to the new king upon the death of Queen Victoria in 1901. Here, the Queen poses standing proud in her crown while holding a fan, draped in various jewels and in an ornate gown. Signed along the mat beneath photo: ''Alexandra'' in black ink. Photo taken by Royal photographers ''W & D Downey'' with address at ''61 Edbury St.S.W''. Matte photo measures 7'' x 11'' and is affixed to a mat measuring 12'' x 17.5''. Silvering to the photo creating a halo affect around the Queen, minor scratches in a few places and toning to mat. Overall very good.
