Lot of 10 checks signed by oil billionaire ''J. Paul Getty''. All dated in the 1940's, six of the checks are made out in type and four entirely in Getty's hand. The amounts range from $2.15 to $1,706.54. Getty was known for his penny-pinching, even negotiating the kidnapping ransom for his grandson. Most checks measure 8.25'' x 3'', with some a bit smaller. With standard bank cancellations and filing punch holes, and jagged left edge to three of them, else near fine.
