Original personal costume for Judy Garland, custom-made around the time she starred in the 1950 MGM musical, "Summer Stock". Garland played "Jane Falbury" opposite Gene Kelly in the film, which was her last at MGM as her personal life continued to affect production. Black strapless gown with red sequins in flourishes has original handwritten wardrobe tag safety-pinned to gown and reads: "Judy Garland / (Hollywood -- Summer Stock) / Black net gown w/ red net ruffle at neckline and tiny red sequins around waist and red sequin ball designs over entire dress". A second tag safety-pinned reads, "7950 / Judy Garland / Hollywood Summer Stock / London" and a third tag is sewn to inseam of gown reading, "Judy Garland / Personal Wardrobe". Bouffant gown measures 14" x 48" and is in near fine condition. With a Gene London Costume Collection COA.
