John Tyler invitation as President, dated 1 March 1842, addressed to a ''Miss Payne''. The partially printed invitation reads, ''The President requests the pleasure of Miss Payne's company at Dinner on Friday next at five o'clock''. 5.25'' x 8'' card style invitation contains remnants of its red wax seal. Minor toning, abrasions from wax seal and tape residue. Overall very good.
