Beautifully ornate ''Kunki'' certificate ''awards Third class Orders of the Sacred Treasure of the Meiji decoration'' to Navy Lieutenant Commander Kobayashi Kenkura. Document translates in full, ''Emperor of Japan, by the Grace of God, and seated on the throne occupied by the same dynasty eternally, awards Third class Orders of the Sacred Treasure of the Meiji decoration to Kobayashi Kenkura who is Navy Lieutenant Commander. It means that he will get honor and privilege. / The year 2572 after the Accession of the Emperor Jinmu. The First Year of Taisho November 21st. At the imperial palace, the Emperor wrote the signature and put a seal that represents an emperor and his nation. [signed] Yoshihito / The First Year of Taisho November 21st. / President of Decoration Bureau, Junior Second Rank with the Third Order of Count Ogimachi Sanemasa / This is registered as No. 407547 on the Class of Order book / Secretary of Decoration Bureau, Senior Fifth Rank with Fourth Order Fujii Zengen''. With the Great Seal of Japan next to Yoshihito's signature. Measures 23.25'' x 17.75''. Housed in a wooden Kunki presentation box tied with green ribbon. Some creasing, otherwise near fine.
