Postmarked Monterey, California on 3 November 1960, Thompson marvels at the beauty of the California coastline: ''...Good word from the fog-bound coast of Big Sur. No money, no Jobs, but incredible country: Colorado by the sea. Just wandering, sleeping cold & wet on cliffs above Pacific...Cheers HST''. Postcard measures 5.5'' x 3.25''.
