Hunter S. Thompson autograph letter signed in the midst of writing "Hell's Angels: The Strange and Terrible Saga of the Outlaw Motorcycle Gang", even referring to his motorcycle that he wrecked while riding with the Angels. Dated 6 January (1966), postcard letter reads in full, "What's going on? No word. [Donald] Cooke won't answer either. 200 pgs. now sent - feel over the hump, but 3-4 more weeks to the end. Am pushing for trip to NY. Bike still wrecked & rusting. Time factor now critical. What's your action? H". Postcard measures 5.5" x 3.25", composed in orange-red marker. Hand-addressed by Thompson on verso to his friend Paul Semonin and postmarked 12 January 1966. Very good to near fine condition.
