Perhaps the first MGM check signed by Greta Garbo, dated 28 November 1925 and signed twice by Garbo on verso, once on each side -- Garbo likely signed on the wrong side and then, after realizing her mistake, signed under the printed ''Endorsement''. Garbo's first American film, ''Torrent'', was released in February 1926, with this check almost certainly payment for the film. Remembered as one of Hollywood's first movie stars, Garbo is one of the few actresses who successfully transitioned to talkie films. Check measures 8.5'' x 3.25'', archivally hinged at top to mat measuring 10.5'' x 6''. Folds and minor creasing, overall in very good condition with bold signatures by Garbo.
