World-famous Italian opera singer Enrico Caruso's hand-drawn sketch, unsigned, on Plaza Hotel Buenos Aires stationery. Best known for his signature role as Canio in ''Pagliacci,'' Caruso was also a gifted caricature artist. Drawn circa 1917, as Caruso was touring South America, portrait depicts a woman in profile with a tall bouffant of curled hair atop her head. Drawing is done in a pencil and measures 8.25'' x 10.5''. Matted in white to an overall size of 10.5'' x 14.5''. Toning throughout and one minor fold, else very good condition. From a larger collection of Caruso caricatures.
