Dwight Eisenhower signs his initial ''D'' boldly as President to a typed letter dated 8 March 1955 on White House stationery to his brother Edgar, who wrote strongly encouraging Dwight to accept an invitation from a friend of Edgar's to locate his headquarters for the 1956 Republican National Convention in Monterey. A copy of that letter is included. Dwight replies in small part, ''...I assure you I haven't the slightest intention of going to the Monterey Peninsula...'' Measures 7'' x 9''.
