Magic lantern slide depicting soldiers at the Savage's Station field hospital, shortly after the Battle of Savage's Station on 29 June 1862. Unbeknownst to these men at the time, the Station would soon be captured by Confederate forces, with most of the wounded soldiers then moved to Confederate prisons. From the John H. Thurston company in Boston, glass slide measures 4'' x 3.25''. Near fine condition.
