Program for the opening ceremonies of the New York and Brooklyn Bridge, held 24 May 1883. Colloquially known since as the Brooklyn Bridge, the opening ceremonies in 1883 unveiled what was then the longest suspension bridge in the world. Program lists the events of the ceremony, including an appearance by the President of the United States Chester Arthur. The trustees, commissioners and engineers on the project are credited within. Program runs four pages, printed by Eagle Print. Measures 5.625'' x 8.125''. Light toning and foxing with splits starting at fold. Very good condition.
