Scarce 2000 Peabody Award honoring ''The Daily Show with Jon Stewart: Indecision 2000'', the wildly popular series of ''The Daily Show'' that lampooned the 2000 Presidential election. With whip-smart analysis that has made the show so beloved, the election-heavy episodes covered the primaries leading up to the general election between George W. Bush and Al Gore. Reporters were not spared in the lampooning, and a variety of laughable ''correspondents'' at both the Democratic and Republican National Conventions were featured. Since 1940, the Peabody Award has been presented to honor excellence in radio, television and Internet media. Award features a gold circular disc depicting the bust of the award's namesake, George Foster Peabody, in profile with ''The University of Georgia / George Foster Peabody'' engraved around circular award. Verso of disc reads ''Awarded by the University of Georgia'' with the school's credo written in Latin. Gold disc is affixed to a black base with a gold plaque reading: ''2000 Peabody Award 'The Daily Show With John Stewart / Indecision 2000' / Comedy Central / College of Journalism and Mass Communication / The University of Georgia''. Award measures 3.5'' x 6.75'', with circular disc measuring 3.5'' in diameter. Disc has minor wear to left edge, otherwise the award is in near fine condition. A scarce award for one of the most popular shows of all time, regarding the most contested election in U.S. history.
