Walt Disney signed mat, housing a large ''Winnie the Pooh and the Honey Tree'' screen-used cel of Christopher Robin and Winnie the Pooh holding a balloon. Disney inscribes the mat, ''To Nell Smith / With My Best / Walt Disney'', dedicated to the granddaughter of poet Ogden Nash, Linell Smith. Released in 1966 as a short film, ''Winnie the Pooh and the Honey Tree'' was the only Winnie the Pooh film to be released in Disney's lifetime. Screen-used cels from the short featurette, especially those signed by Walt Disney, are extraordinarily rare.
Official Disney mat is framed to a size of 20'' x 17.5'' with Disney label on verso confirming cel's screen-use. Cel and background measure approximately 12.25'' x 9''. Minor toning to mat. Cel remains in near fine condition. Consigned directly by Linell Smith.
