Charming original artwork by Pablo Picasso, who sketches the portrait of a bearded man on a postcard, signing it ''Picasso / le 8.3.67''. Sketch is rendered in blue ballpoint, taking up one-half of a postcard featuring Picasso's artwork on front. Postcard is cancelled on 9 March 1967 from Cannes, France, addressed in the hand of Picasso's wife, Jacqueline Roque, to Oscar Gewelt, a musician who corresponded with Picasso, Jean Cocteau and other artists of the time. Measures 6'' x 4.125''. Light foxing and creasing, and two small pieces of tape on front of card. Very good condition. In 2015, another postcard with original cubist artwork by Picasso sold for $188,000.
