Harper Lee autograph letter signed, dated 27 July 1991, to her friends Doris and Bill Leapard. The letter, apparently sent with theater tickets, discusses Broadway shows. Letter reads in part, ''...Broadway, as usual, seems to be on its last legs, but this time for real; there are only about a dozen shows on B'way now, and 8 or more are musicals! For good talks, off-Broadway is where to go. There is one thing I was tempted to get you - there's a crackling good production of Getting Married at the O in the [she draws a square], but I didn't because I don't know how you feel about Shaw. (Me, I love him. Alas I have to read him now.) Despite rumors that Six Degrees is closing, I forged ahead...All love, Nelle''. 8.5'' x 11'' single page letter is in fine condition. Accompanying envelope, signed ''NH LEE'', is very good.
