Lot #14: Prince Stage-Worn Black & Gold Costume -- With His Shoes Featuring His Love Symbol

Black and gold costume worn onstage by Prince. Custom-made two-piece costume in thin fabric with allover black and gold faux reptile print features a long-sleeved top with lace up front, slits up the sides and matching pants. Costume bears the label of designer Jose Arellanas. Accompanied by Prince's 3.5'' high-heeled shoes with his famous ''love symbol'' as zipper pulls in gold tone metal. Black cloth shoes with leather lining are stamped with maker's label, ''The City Cobbler / Handmade Shoes''. A metal reinforcement is nailed into the space between the heel and sole under the arch. Shirt measures 18'' x 29''. Pants are size 24'' x 31''. Shoes measure 9.25'' from toe to heel. Some fading to shoes, else costume is near fine overall. From the collection of Mayte Garcia.
