Two reel-to-reel mastering reference tapes for Prince's first album, ''For You''. Dated 8 March 1978, the stereo tapes come housed in their original boxes, with each tape pertaining to one side of the original album. Once approved, an album ''Master'' was made and used to press up the individual albums. This was the last version of the album heard before the 9 songs were pressed to vinyl. Songs were recorded at the Record Plant in Sausalito, mixed at Sound Labs LA, and mastered at A&M. Only 5 copies were likely made, making this pair of tapes extremely rare. Tapes are offered as collector's pieces only and do not come with rights for reproduction, manufacturing or distribution. Each square box measures 7.25''.
