Lot #12: Jean-Pierre Papin's Engraved European Cup Rolex Watch Obtained Directly from Him

Description

Beautiful Rolex watch won by French football legend Jean-Pierre Papin in 1994 while he played for the AC Milan football club. Papin was named as one of FIFA's 100 best players of all time in 2004, and joined AC Milan in 1992 after several enormously successful years playing for the French Marseille club. AC Milan had an astonishing run of success that year, winning the Italian Football league title in addition to the European Cup/UEFA Champions League. Fully functioning Swiss-made Rolex watch features engravings to the back of the face, one which is an AC Milan jersey with 14 engraved on it, the number of Serie A titles the team won up to that point. The other engraving is a trophy with the number 5 engraved on it, as the 93/94 season marked the fifth European Cup/UEFA Champions League that the AC Milan club had won. Rolex is an oyster perpetual air-king model, and features stainless steel components with a navy blue face. The red and white AC Milan logo is printed to the right of center of the watch, underneath the glass. Watch is accompanied by its original green felt case, which features a gold snap and the iconic Rolex logo. Also included is the original service booklet, written in French. Watch face measures 1.25" in diameter. Near fine. Accompanied by an LOA from Jean-Pierre Papin.
