Roberto Clemente was an MLB All-Star and fan favorite who played for 18 seasons between 1955 and 1972 for the Pittsburgh Pirates. He is often considered one of the greatest right fielders to have played the game. Clemente notched his 3,000th career hit months before tragically dying in a plane crash while on a charity mission to Nicaragua. Clemente was the first Latin American and Caribbean to be inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame.

1971 Topps Baseball Unopened Wax Box
1971 Topps Baseball box of 24 sealed packs. Box is from the fourth series, which includes Hank Aaron and Nolan Ryan. For the first time in 1957, Topps put full year-by-year statistics for the player’s entire career on the back of the card. Over the next few years, Topps alternated between this format and merely showing the past season plus career totals. The practice of showing complete career statistics became permanent in 1963, except for one year, 1971, when Topps sacrificed the full statistics in order to put a player photo on the back of the card as well. Box sealed in plastic measures approximately 8″ x 7″ x 1.5″. Wear along edges and to corners, overall excellent condition. Sold by us. Worth over $70,000 now.
Babe Ruth & Lou Gehrig Autograph 5″ x 7″ Pre-1928 Photo in Yankee Pinstripes and Wearing Baseball Mitts
Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig autograph photograph. 5″ x 7″ black and white image depicts the two Yankee greats standing side by side on the baseball field wearing their pinstripe pants. Inscribed by Ruth in brown ink at the upper left, “For Walter from, ‘Babe’ Ruth” beside which Gehrig signs in black ink, “& Lou Gehrig”. Small .25″ tear (with no emulsion loss) at top, not affecting either signature, else fine. A difficult to acquire pairing of legendary signatures on a single photograph. A Babe Ruth signature with the quotation marks around “Babe” typifies his pre-1928 autograph and will sell at a higher value as well. Sold for $19,036.

Rare Roberto Clemente Pittsburgh Pirates 1961-63 game-used bat. Bat shows Forbes Field green bat rack marks and #21 on the knob. Excellent condition with PSA authentication. An excellent Roberto Clemente example of sports memorabilia. Sold for $5,400.
