Sell Your 1932 New York Yankees Team Signed Baseball

The New York Yankees are an American professional baseball team based in the New York City borough of the Bronx. They compete in Major League Baseball (MLB) as a member club of the American League (AL) East division. They are one of two major league clubs based in New York City, the other being the National League’s (NL) New York Mets. The Yankees began play in the 1901 season as the Baltimore Orioles (no relation to the modern Baltimore Orioles). In 1903, Frank Farrell and Bill Devery purchased the franchise after it ceased operations and moved it to New York City, renaming the club the New York Highlanders. The Highlanders were officially renamed the New York Yankees in 1913.

Here are some recent items that our auction house, Nate D. Sanders (http://www.NateDSanders.com) has sold:

Babe Ruth & Lou Gehrig Autograph 5″ x 7″  Pre-1928 Photo in Yankee Pinstripes and Wearing Baseball Mitts

Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig autograph photograph. 5″ x 7″ black and white image depicts the two Yankee greats standing side by side on the baseball field wearing their pinstripe pants. Inscribed by Ruth in brown ink at the upper left, “For Walter from, ‘Babe’ Ruth” beside which Gehrig signs in black ink, “& Lou Gehrig”. Small .25″ tear (with no emulsion loss) at top, not affecting either signature, else fine. A difficult to acquire pairing of legendary signatures on a single photograph.  A Babe Ruth signature with the quotation marks around “Babe” typifies his pre-1928 autograph and will sell at a higher value as well.  Sold for $19,036.

Dual Signed Babe Ruth Autograph & Lou Gehrig Autograph Baseball

Babe Ruth & Lou Gehrig autograph on a baseball. Official League ball signed on the sweet spot with a Babe Ruth autograph in black ink. Additionally signed by fellow “Murderers Row” member, Lou Gehrig on adjacent panel in black ink. Ruth autograph rates PSA 6-7; Gerhrig signature rates PSA 8. Accompanied by PSA/DNA letter of authenticity certifying that the Babe Ruth autograph and the Lou Gehrig autographs are authentic. An exceptional signed ball and a must-have for Yankees collectors.  Sold for $18,500.

1934 Goudey Lou Gehrig #37 PSA 7

In 1934, Gehrig hit .363 with 49 home runs and 165 RBI, a tremendous but typical season for the legendary slugger. He even slugged .706! Despite winning the elusive Triple Crown that same season, Gehrig only managed to finish fifth in the MVP voting. These two Gehrig cards provide the foundation to this extraordinary set. The #37 card, a hobby favorite, shows a smiling Gehrig against a yellow background. It is one of the most attractive cards in the hobby and more difficult than the #61 card in the same set. That card, showing Gehrig with his bat from the waist up, is also very eye-appealing. On the reverse of the #37 card, is a quote from Gehrig that reads, I love the game of baseball and hope to be in there batting them out for many years to come, fortune has been kind to me. Just a few years later, Gehrig would be stricken with ALS. In a showing of class and dignity, Gehrig would give a speech that will never be forgotten on July 4, 1939. A tearful but grateful Gehrig uttered, Today, I consider myself the luckiest man on the face of the earth. Those words echo in eternity. Sold for $3,500.
