John F. Kennedy Dinner Invitation, Welcoming Him to Texas the Night of His Assassination

Original invitation to the dinner welcoming John F. Kennedy and Lyndon B. Johnson to Texas the fateful night of 22 November 1963. The formal print reads in full: ”In honor of President John F. Kennedy and Lyndon B. Johnson The State Democratic Executive Committee requests the pleasure of your company at the Texas Welcome Dinner on Friday evening the twenty-second of November One thousand nine hundred and sixty-three at half after seven o’clock at the Municipal Auditorium in the City of Austin”. Signed in print by the Chairman, Vice-Chairman, and Secretary. Fine print to the lower left reads: ”Contribution card enclosed / Optional dress”. Single-fold stationery measures 7” x 9.75”. In near fine condition. Sold for $625.

China From John F. Kennedy’s Last Official Dinner on 18 November, 1963, Four Days Before His Assassination

Striking cobalt blue dinner plate from John F. Kennedy’s last official dinner, the Inter American Press Association dinner held on 18 November 1963, just days before the President left for Texas. China plate features a gilt rim and gilt presidential seal at center, encircled by 14 coats of arms, each representing a member state of the IAPA. Plate underside is stamped ”Syracuse / China / 93-G U.S.A.” Plate measures 10.375”. Faint surface scratching, overall near fine condition. Sold for $3,545.

John F. Kennedy International Extradition Document Signed as President During The Last Year of His Life — Scarce — With PSA/DNA COA

Very scarce John F. Kennedy extradition orders signed as President in 1963. International extradition document is signed boldly ”John F Kennedy” in black ink. Fugitive Dave L. Burggraf was accused of robbery in California and apprehended in Italy. Packet includes California extradition papers, an FBI teletype, a copy of the telegram sent to Italian National Police and a Los Angeles Sheriff’s department photo of Burggraf. The form signed by Kennedy is counter-signed by George W. Ball as acting Secretary of State. Complete stapled packet runs 14pp. Signed page bears a large white seal and measures 10.5” x 14.5”. Toning, dampstaining to Ball’s signature and a tear to the right edge, overall very good condition. The only such extradition order we have seen signed by President Kennedy. Accompanied by a PSA/DNA COA. Sold for $4,061.

John F. Kennedy 8” x 10” Signed Photo as U.S. Senator — Year Before He Was Elected President — With PSA/DNA COA

Very rare photo signed by John F. Kennedy while serving his second term as Senator from Massachusetts. JFK inscribes and signs this engaging photo in black ink: ”To Frank Minarik and the members of the Democratic Committee – Pima County — with every good wish / John Kennedy / 1959”. Pima County, Arizona is where Minarik was active in the Democratic Party and had been a delegate to the 1952 Democratic National Convention. 8” x 10” semi-matte photo has been trimmed slightly on the right side and shows light soiling. A small spot of white-out appears above Kennedy’s head, not very noticeable as it blends in with the background color. Kennedy’s writing is still bold and strong. Overall in very good condition and accompanied by a PSA/DNA COA. Sold for $3,691.
