Sir Alec Guinness European Film Academy Lifetime Achievement Award
Rare European Film Academy Lifetime Achievement Award presented to Sir Alec Guinness on 8 December 1996 in Berlin. Guinness won an Academy Award for his role in “The Bridge on the River Kwai” as well as receiving an Academy Honorary Award for lifetime achievement in 1980. Yet his lifetime of movie making, which began in the 1940’s, would continue well into the 1990’s. Minor chipping to the 7.5″ circular base beneath the 16″ abstract sculptural figure. Award weighing 17.25 pounds is in very good condition. Sold for $3,066.

Berlin Film Festival Honorary Golden Bear Award presented to Sir Alec Guinness in 1988. This award pays tribute to important figures in the world of film and is presented for an exceptional artistic career. The award is inscribed: “Berlin Film Festival 1988 / Tribute to Sir Alec Guinness / For His Contribution to the Art of Film”. The award features a 7.25″ bear figure, designed by Renee Sintenis, standing upon a 3.75″ x 2.75″ base. Weighs 5.75 pounds. Overall in very good condition. Sold for $2,520.
Venice Film Festival award plaque presented to editor Constantine Gochis for the film ”U.S. #1: American Profile”, about the famed U.S. Route 1 Highway, which runs from Fort Kent, Maine to Key West, Florida. 8” x 10” wood plaque features a medallion from the oldest film festival in the world, reading ”La Biennale De Venezia”. Small nicks to left side, overall in very good condition. Sold for $3,125.
2010 Sundance Film Grand Jury Crystal Award
Official 2010 Sundance Film Festival Grand Jury Crystal Award. Glass rectangular award displays the festival’s theme that year in red lettering, ”Rebel” with a Sundance Film Festival and various phrases relating to the theme in the background. Films receiving Jury Awards were selected from four categories: U.S. Dramatic Competition, U.S. Documentary Competition, World Cinema Dramatic Competition and World Cinema Documentary Competition. Awarded during the closing ceremony of the awards. Measures 5” x 7” and is 1.5” deep, housed in original black box lined in satin. Weighs 4 pounds 13 ounces. Fine. Sold for $2,520.
