Apollo 11 Crew Signed Letter — Eight Days Before Their Launch! — With PSA/DNA COA

Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin and Michael Collins typed letter signed just eight days before their historic Apollo 11 launch. On official NASA letterhead, date stamped 8 July 1969. Addressed to Miss Lillian Gerbino of Cold Spring, New York, letter reads in full: “Dear Miss Gerbino: Colonel Aldrin, Colonel Collins and I certainly appreciate your writing to us bestowing honorary membership in your society, and we are grateful for your good wishes on our forthcoming flight.” Single page measures 8″ x 10″. Light foxing and mailing folds, otherwise fine condition. Accompanied by a PSA/DNA Certificate of Authenticity. Sold for $15,329.

Apollo 11 crew-signed ”type three” insurance cover, signed by Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin and Michael Collins. Apollo 11 was the first to produce insurance covers for the families of the astronauts, with three different types of which this is type three. Cover features the Apollo 11 mission insignia, postmark from Kennedy Space Center on 16 July 1969, the day of the launch, and an Apollo 8 six-cent stamp. The signatures of ”Michael Collins”, ”Neil Armstrong” and ”Buzz Aldrin” prominently appear in blue felt tip. Measures 6.5” x 3.75”. Near fine condition. Sold for $8,750.

Apollo 11 signed photo display. The three astronauts depicted here each sign the white space below their photos: “Neil Atg”, “M Collins” and “Buzz Aldrin”. Plus, signed by “Werner von Braun”. With NASA insignia to the upper right and an image of the plaque left on the moon stating: “Here Men From The Planet Earth First Set Foot Upon The Moon July 1969, A.D. We Came In Peace For All Mankind”. Lithograph measures 14″ x 11″ and comes in a transparent protective sleeve. Toning to verso and creasing to corners, else near fine. With PSA/DNA COA.
