Gorden Goldsberry was a professional baseball player in the MLB and top tier of the Pacific Coast League who played between 1944 and 1956 for the Hollywood Stars, Los Angeles Angels, Oakland Oaks, Seattle Rainiers, Chicago White Sox and St. Louis Browns. He was born in Sacramento, California and attended college at UCLA. Goldsberry played in 217 MLB games between 1949 and 1952 and had batting average of .241 and 56 runs batted in. Upon retiring from his playing career Goldsberry was a scout for the Los Angeles Dodgers, Chicago Cubs, Milwaukee Brewers and Philadelphia Phillies. Goldsberry also worked as a baseball executive serving as the director of player development, scouting for the Cubs and assistant to Orioles general manager Roland Hemond.
