Frankie Hayes was a catcher in the MLB who played for the Philadelphia Athletics, St. Louis Browns, Philadelphia Athletics, Cleveland Indians, Chicago White Sox and Boston Red Sox between 1933 and 1947. During the 1940s Hayes played in 312 consecutive games which is still the current record for catchers in the MLB. During his fourteen year career he was a six time All-Star and played in all 155 games during the 1944 season, an American League record that still stands today. Hayes finished his 1,364 game career with 1,164 hits, 119 home runs, 628 RBIs and an overall average of .259. Following his playing career he ran a sporting goods store in New Jersey and passed away and the young age of 40 years old.
