Sell Your 1934 Philadelphia Athletics Signed Baseball
Here is a 1934 Philadelphia Athletics signed baseball we sold:
1934 Athletics Team Signed Ball
1934 Philadelphia Athletics team-signed baseball with Jimmie Foxx signature on the sweet spot. Sixteen signatures on a clean white Official American League baseball (William Harridge, President), including a rare signature from the legendary power hitter. Foxx signature appears alone on the sweet spot in black ink. An excellent alternative to the Foxx single-signed baseballs, this team-signed ball includes signatures of Eddie Rommel, Bob Johnson, Roger Cramer, Pinky Higgins, Charlie Berry, Sugar Cain, Bing Miller, Roy Mahaffey, Tim McKeithan, Johnny Marcum, Eric McNair, Ed Coleman, Dib Williams, Eddie Madjeski and one player not identified. Foxx joined the A’s, his first professional team, in 1925 at the age of 17. He played first base with the team for eleven years and earned a reputation as one of the most powerful sluggers of his day. The great Yankee pitcher Lefty Gomez, who once gave up a pitch that Foxx smashed into the third deck of Yankee stadium, is rumored to have said of Foxx, “He has muscles in his hair.” Some signatures show rubbing, though all but one are fully legible. Foxx signature shows slight rubbing to his first name. Near mint condition. Sold for $1,800.
We also sold this NY Giants baseball:
Baseball signed by the 1954 World Series champion New York Giants team. 29 signatures include: “W Mays”, “Foster Castleman”, “Hank Thompson”, “Ray Katt”, “John McCall”, “Bill Taylor”, “Al Dark”, “B Hofman”, “Sal Maglie”, “Al Corwin”, “Whitey Lockman”, “Jim Rhodes”, “Hoyt Wilhelm”, “Don Mueller”, “Bill Gardner”, “Marv Grissom”, “Jim Hearn”, “Larry Jansen”, “Monte Irvin” and “Don Liddle”. A notation by an unknown hand labels the ball “1954 World Champions / N.Y. Giants”. Warren Giles National League ball by Spalding shows faint smudging to some signatures and light soiling to seams, else near fine. From the personal estate of Larry Jansen. With PSA/DNA COA for all signatures, except Leo Durocher’s signature which is stamped. Sold for $1,477.
