Jackie Robinson signed first edition, first printing of his autobiography, ”Wait Till Next Year.” New York: Random House, 1960. Signed on 22 June 1960, Robinson pens the inscription in blue fountain pen on the front free endpaper, ”To George Phillips with best wishes. I hope you enjoy ‘Wait Till Next Year.” / Jackie Robinson”. Bound in black and gray boards with red lettering, book measures 6” x 9.25” and runs 339pp., housed in original dust jacket with $4.95 price. Toning to signature page and some chipping to jacket. Very good plus condition. Sold for $3,125.

Jackie Robinson’s Autobiographical Book Signed — “Wait Till Next Year” — First Edition

Jackie Robinson signed and inscribed “Wait Till Next Year.” 1st edition, 1st printing: NY: Random House: 1960. Signed in black ink on ffep, inscription reads, “7-16-60, To Jimmie and Nancy Freezer, with best wishes. I hope you enjoy Wait Till Next Year.’ Jackie Robinson.” Measures 6″ x 9.25″, 339pp. Some light toning and foxing to signed page and paste downs, and some light staining to inside pages and spine with some wrinkling and thin red staining along the tops of some pages. Overall in very good condition. With PSA/DNA COA. Sold for $1,171.

Official Pony League baseball signed in black ink, “Best Wishes / Jackie Robinson.” Accompanied by Certificates of Authenticity from PSA and Richard Simon. Overall, very good condition. An exceptional signed ball and must-have for baseball collectors. Sold for $4,884.

Jackie Robinson Postcard Signed, Urging Someone to Stop Smoking — ”…if you refrained from smoking it would make a much better athlete of you…”

Jackie Robinson typed postcard signed, urging a fan to refrain from smoking. Letter reads in full, ”I received your letter and definitely feel that if you refrained from smoking it would make a much better athlete of you. / I hope you are to improve your game. / Best wishes, Sincerely, [signed] Jackie Robinson”. Verso is addressed to James Dowling in Brooklyn, postmarked 16 October 1950”. Postcard measures 5.5” x 3.25”. Tape to corners, light discoloration, and single fold just touching the edge of ”J” in Jackie. Very good condition. Sold for $938.

Jackie Robinson photo signed, bearing his autograph inscription to actor Van Heflin. Robinson is pictured here in his Dodgers uniform signing a baseball while Van Heflin stands beside him smiling, dressed in a very period herringbone jacket ensemble. Autograph inscription on Robinson’s uniform in ink reads in full, ”To Van with best / wishes and thanks for / dropping in on us I / appreciated your coming / by / Sincerely, / Jackie Robinson”. Matte black and white photo measures 8” x 10”. Creasing, else near fine. From the collection of Van Heflin, obtained directly from his son. Sold for $688.
