Sell Your Jack London The Call of the Wild 1st Edition

Jack London was born John Griffith Chaney on January 12, 1876, in San Francisco, California. After working in the Klondike, London returned home and began publishing stories. His novels, including The Call of the Wild, White Fang and Martin Eden, placed London among the most popular American authors of his time. London, who was also a journalist and an outspoken socialist, died in 1916.

Here is a 1st edition copy of Jack London The Call of the Wild that we sold:

Jack London’s “Call of the Wild” First Edition Signed — Scarce

First edition of Jack London’s “The Call of the Wild,” signed and inscribed by the author on the half-title page, “Jack London / Nov. 10, 1905”. Macmillan Company: New York: 1903. Illustrated by Philip R. Goodwin and Charles Livingston Bull, with eleven full-page color plates, seven in blue functioning as chapter dividers, and numerous textual illustrations and illustrated endpapers. Bound in publisher’s green cloth boards with gilt, white, red and black stamping to the front cover and spine. Top edge gilt, other edges uncut. Light wear to the exterior boards. Both hinges cracked and holding by the mull cloth. Overall a very good copy of London’s first edition, rarely found signed by him. Sold for $3,305.

Jack London Signed and Inscribed “Before Adam” First Edition — “…Yours for the Revolution…”

Rare first edition of “Before Adam,” signed and inscribed by Jack London. Inscription reads, “Dear Alec: – Yours for the Revolution, Jack London / Glen Ellen, Mar 2/11”. Macmillan Company: New York: 1907. Contains all first edition points including “published February, 1907″ on copyright page and all eight color illustrations by Charles Livingston Bull. Measures 5.5″ x 7.75” and runs 242pp. In publisher’s original boards. Very good plus condition, with a cracked front hinge and light toning from now-absent dustjacket. Sold for $1,500.
