Scarce Muhammad Ali Collectible — 1959 Golden Gloves Amateur Boxing Program — Won by 17-Year-Old Cassius Clay!
Original program for the 32nd Annual Golden Gloves Finals, held at Chicago Stadium on 11 March 1959, in which a 17-year-old Cassius Clay won the 175 pound division. Program features Clay on page 41. Program is in remarkably nice condition, with all pages intact, interior pages unmarked and no tears. There is light soiling and creasing to the covers with the lower corners showing a dog-eared bend. Interior pages are lightly creased, but else in near fine condition. Overall, a remarkably well-preserved copy in very good condition. Sold for $1,215.

Muhammad Ali Signed Kentucky Derby Program — Signed as Cassius Clay — With PSA/DNA COA
Scarce Muhammad Ali signed Kentucky Derby program, signed as ”Cassius Clay”. Ali, considered the greatest boxer of all time, converted to Islam in 1964 and changed his name from Cassius Clay to Muhammad Ali. Boldly signed ”Cassius Clay” to cover of program insert from the 89th running of the Kentucky Derby on 4 May 1963. Insert, a guide to the Kentucky Derby Museum, measures 5.5” x 8.5” and runs 13pp. Lot also includes the full Kentucky Derby program measuring 4” x 9”. Toning and slight staining to insert, not affecting quality of the signature. The name of Paul Major, who acquired Ali’s autograph, also appears to the signature page. Very good. With PSA/DNA COA. Sold for $1,563.
Cassius Clay Signed Album – I Am the Greatest! JSA COA
Cassius Clay signed album “I Am the Greatest!” from 1964, shortly before he changed his name to Muhammad Ali. Clay signs the back of the album in blue ballpoint, “To Shedrick From / Cassius Clay / Next Champ / Good Luck / 1964”. Released by Columbia in 1963, the album helped establish Ali’s reputation as an eloquent hyperbolist who liked to goad his opponents. One of the songs, “Will The Real Sonny Liston Please Fall Down” is considered the first rap battle track, and many of the tracks also influenced early hip-hop and rap. Album measures 12.5″ square. Record has not been played, but appears near fine. Overall near fine. With JSA COA. Sold for $1,110.
