Andy Warhol lithograph of Hollywood superstar, Elizabeth Taylor. Made with acrylic and silkscreen ink on canvas and limited to approximately 300. Warhol signs and dates the piece at lower right in black pen, ”Andy Warhol 65”. Simply titled ”Liz”, this red version is part of a series with different background colors. Warhol began his Taylor paintings in 1963 and used a publicity photo for the film ”Butterfield 8” as his source. Measures 22” x 22”. Matted and framed, measures 29” x 29”. Not examined out of the frame, but viewable portion is near fine. Sold for $42,250.

Andy Warhol Large Signed Poster of Marilyn Monroe

Andy Warhol signed poster from his acclaimed show at the Tate Gallery in London in 1971, depicting one of his famous images of Marilyn Monroe. The pop artist gained worldwide notoriety for his legendary Marilyn diptych recreations, with reproductions of various colors of this same silk-screened image hanging in museums around the world. Warhol signs in black marker to the bottom right of the commemorative poster from the show, which ran from 17 February through 28 March 1971. Measures 20” x 30”. Faint tape stains to top. Very good plus. Sold for $8,319.

Andy Warhol signed poster from his acclaimed show at the Tate Gallery in London in 1971, depicting one of the images of Marilyn Monroe from his Marilyn Diptych painting. The pop artist gained worldwide notoriety for this artwork (which would come to be his signature style), with reproductions of various colors of this same silk-screened image. Warhol signs in black marker to the bottom right of the commemorative poster from the show, which ran from 17 February through 28 March 1971. Measures 20″ x 30″. Faint creasing to edges, overall near fine. Accompanied by the original tube from the Tate Gallery, and also with a COA from University Archives. Sold for $6,227.

Andy Warhol Twice-Signed Iconic Campbell’s Soup Can

Andy Warhol signed Campbell’s soup can, made famous by Warhol with his 1962 artwork ”Campbell’s Soup Cans”. The pop artist signs ”Andy Warhol” in black felt tip on the tomato soup label, as well as ”Andy” on the metal top of the can. Accompanied by an LOA from Daniel J. Elmergreen, caretaker in the 1980s for art patron Frank Weinstein’s home, where this can originates. In the LOA, Elmergreen writes that Warhol would often go into the cupboards of his friends’ homes to sign ”iconic brands”. Can measures 4” tall and 2.625” in diameter. Bottom lid has hole punctured, so can is empty. Rusting to metal and some discoloration to label, which is still firmly attached to the can. Overall in very good condition, rare as twice-signed and with provenance attesting to the personal nature of signatures. Sold for $3,750.

1982 Andy Warhol signed and numbered “1851/2000” multi-color lithograph “Committee 2000.” Printed on museum board. Professionally mounted, matted. Gold metal frame. Measures 30″ x 40″ in frame; 20″ x 30″ without. A great image from the iconic Pop artist’s body of work. Purchased on April 14, 2006 for the price of $3,972.19 Detailed proof of purchase to follow via mail An excellent Andy Warhol signed lithograph. Sold for $3,675.

Rare leather-bound Gold Collector’s Edition of Andy Warhol’s portrait book, “Exposures.” Numbered 12/1000. Warhol signs in pencil “Andy Warhol” on limited edition page. Grosset & Dunlap: New York: 1979. Black leather-bound book includes gilt “Andy Warhol” lettering to front cover and measures 9.5″ x 11.5″. Book includes original COA from Grosset & Dunlap and the black paper cover with gold seal. Additional signed print is not included. Book is in fine condition and protective cover is in very good condition. Sold for $2,500.

Andy Warhol Signed Iconic Campbell’s Soup Label — With PSA/DNA COA

Andy Warhol signed Campbell’s soup label. He signs ”Andy Warhol” in black felt tip between ”Tomato” and ”SOUP” on the label peeled from a can of the product Warhol turned into an icon. Autographed cans of the mass-produced soup were sold at the famous ”American Supermarket” exhibit at Paul Bianchini’s Upper East Side gallery in 1964. Label measures approximately 9.5” x 5”. Near fine. With PSA/DNA COA. Sold for $2,500.

Andy Warhol Signed Poster of His Famous Elizabeth Taylor Work

Andy Warhol signed poster of Elizabeth Taylor, from a show commemorating his work held at the Jeanne Abeille gallery in Toulouse, France in 1975. Also included is the original cardboard packing tube, sent from Warhol’s “Factory” studio, postmarked 14 January 1981 and with his return address. Warhol signs the pink, turquoise and black poster to the lower portion of the image of Elizabeth Taylor. Measures 17.25″ x 25″. Tube measures 25.5″ long. Light creasing to poster; very good plus. Sold for $2,475.

Andy Warhol Sketches His Famous Campbell’s Soup Can — Drawn Upon a Signed First Edition of ”The Philosophy of Andy Warhol”

Andy Warhol signed first edition of ”The Philosophy of Andy Warhol”, with his hand-drawn illustration of the Campbell’s soup can that he designed. Warhol signs ”To Joan / With Love / Andy Warhol” on the half-title page, where the Campbell’s sketch also appears. Andy Warhol signed first edition of ”The Philosophy of Andy Warhol”, with his hand-drawn illustration of the Campbell’s soup can that he designed. Warhol signs ”Raymond / Andy Warhol” on the half-title page, where the Campbell’s sketch also appears. Published by Harcourt Brace: New York: 1975, first edition bound in yellow and burnt orange boards runs 241pp. and measures 5.75” x 8.5”. Very light wear to boards and small stain to top of illustration page. Very good to near fine overall. With a COA from PSA/DNA. Sold for $2,250.

Andy Warhol Signed Screenprint Poster From 1981

Andy Warhol screenprint poster of Kimiko Powers, signed by both Warhol and Powers. The original portrait was commissioned by Powers, completed in 1972 and then selected for Warhol’s Colorado State University Exhibition in 1981, with 250 screenprints made as advertising support. Both Warhol and Powers attended the show and held an autograph session. Powers signs her name and inscribes “To Cindy” in Japanese, whereas Warhol simply signs his full name. Poster was printed by Licht Editions in Denver and published by the Colorado State University Department of Art in Fort Collins, Colorado. Measures 25″ x 35″. Very minor wear to edges and minor discoloration to white areas. Color is vibrant and signatures are large and bold. Very good condition. Sold for $2,075.

Andy Warhol Signed First Edition of His Book With Dustjacket & His Hand-Drawn Sketch of The Can of Campbell’s Tomato Soup He Elevated to the Status of Cultural Icon

Andy Warhol signed and sketched first edition of his book, ”The Philosophy of Andy Warhol”, Harcourt Brace Jovanovich: New York & London: 1975. Fly-leaf features a giant sketch by Warhol of the Campbell’s Tomato Soup can he popularized in 1964 with his definitive exhibit, ”The American Supermarket”. Sketch, rendered in black felt tip is dedicated in Warhol’s hand, ”To Darren”, labeled ”Campbell’s / Tomato / Soup” and signed, ”Andy Warhol”. Book is a compilation of Warhol’s opinions and reflections on fame, art and popular culture. Bound in yellow paper boards with orange cloth spine and black print lettering. Runs 240pp. Measures 5.75” x 8.75”. Very slight cocking to spine. Staining to bottom edge of boards and to the bottom edge of the rear free endpaper, else near fine. With unclipped dustjacket showing minor edge wear and small stain to verso, else near fine. Sold for $1,875.

Andy Warhol Signed 50″ x 35″ Poster, With Hand-Drawn River, From His “American Indian” Series — Here Featuring Activist Russell Means, a Leader at Wounded Knee

Large 50″ x 35″ poster signed by Warhol, with a flowing river also drawn by him, from Warhol’s “American Indian” series in 1976. For this series, Warhol painted 18 different portraits of Native American activist Russell Means, one of the leaders of 1973’s Wounded Knee Incident. This visually arresting poster features Means in a stylized blue color, resembling a photo negative, against a bright red background. The poster was commissioned by Ace Gallery in Los Angeles, where it was originally obtained, with printing information along bottom: “c 1976 Ace Gallery, L.A., Calif.” Measures 50″ x 35″. In very good plus condition with some minimal creasing along edges and a very small .25″ closed tear. Accompanied by copy of original Ace Gallery receipt from May 1977. Sold for $1,800.

First Edition, First Printing of Andy Warhol’s “The Philosophy of Andy Warhol (From A to B & Back Again)” — Signed and Inscribed With an Illustration of the Famous Campbell’s Soup Can

Scarce illustrated and signed first edition, first printing of “The Philosophy of Andy Warhol (From A to B & Back Again).” Harcourt Brace Jovanovich: New York: 1975. Inscription on front fly leaf reads: “Marc / Campbell’s Pea Soup / Andy Warhol” with a large illustration in felt pen by Warhol of his Campbell’s soup can filling the entire page. Written as an assemblage of self-consciously ironic “quotable quotes” about love, beauty, fame, work, sex, time, and other topics, the book is a true first edition, with both the issue line “B C D E” and “First Edition” printed on copyright page. Hardcover book is in original quarter-orange cloth and yellow paper boards, with titles to spine in white and black and with facsimile “AW” initials printed in black on the front board. Original dustjacket, with unclipped “$7.95″ price intact, has a few small chips and wear to edges. Book measures 5.75″ x 8.75”. Near fine condition overall. Sold for $1,796.

Andy Warhol signed and numbered “Portraits of the 70s” edited by David Whitney. New York: Random House/Whitney Museum: 1979. Number 20 of a 200 copy limited edition run published in conjunction with an exhibition held at the Whitney Museum of Art. Signed in ink to limitation page. 142pp. with 112 color plates of portraits including, Yves St. Laurent, Liza Minelli, Mick Jagger, David Hocney, etc. Wear to slipcase, else excellent condition. Andy Warhol signed postcard of his famous “Marilyn Diptych”. The original silkscreen painting was created by the artist just after Monroe’s death in 1962. Signed “Andy” in black felt tip marker along bottom margin, postcard measures 4″ x 5.75″ and is in fine condition. Sold for $1,563.

Andy Warhol Signed 8” x 10” Photo

Rare photo signed by Andy Warhol, who preferred to sign his books rather than his own image. Taken by photographer Richard Schulman, Warhol signs the image boldly along the photographic border, ”Andy Warhol”. 8” x 10” glossy photo has light creasing at edges, overall in very good plus condition. Sold for $938.

Andy Warhol Signed Rare Catalog “Andy Warhol: Space Fruit”

Rare Andy Warhol “Space Fruit: Still Lifes / A Suite of Serigraphs” signed catalog published by Michael Zivian: New York. Warhol signs, “A Warhol” upon the front cover. In 1977 Warhol met printer Rupert Jasen Smith who worked with him to create the Space Fruit series. These prints demonstrate Warhol’s experimentation with a centuries-old genre in painting the still life. The 10pp. catalog measures 10″ x 8″. Minor toning, else near fine condition. Sold for $732.
