Adorable Charles Schulz Snoopy portrait signed. Likely done in brush marker, the beloved ”Peanuts” dog poses smiling with his paws under his chin. Signed ”Schulz” at lower right. With a 1958 United Feature Syndicate label affixed beneath portrait, likely done for one of the ”Peanuts” books. Measures 10.25” x 10.25”. Some very minor foxing and dampstaining to lower right, else very good to near fine. Sold for $4,760.

Charles Schulz Drawing of His ”Peanuts” Characters From 1957 — Includes Charlie Brown, Snoopy, Lucy, Linus & Schroeder

Charles Schulz hand-drawn pencil sketch of his ”Peanuts” characters from 1957, drawn on his personal stationery from Minneapolis. Schulz draws Charlie Brown, Snoopy, Lucy, Linus and Schroeder and writes, ”for Spencer – Charles M. Schulz”. Recipient was the rock poster artist Spencer Zahn, who wrote to Schulz in 1957 expressing his affection for the strip. Sheet measures 8.5” x 11.125”. Shallow folds, light toning and discoloration, and abrasion to bottom edge where page has adhered to glass frame. Overall in very good condition. Sold for $4,061.

Charles Schulz Giant Drawing of Snoopy & Schroeder at His Piano — Measures 18.5” x 14.75”

Charles Schulz ”Peanuts” drawing measuring 18.5” x 14.75”. Schulz’s large charcoal piece portrays Schroeder earnestly engaging in his favorite pastime, playing the piano, with an amused Snoopy sitting atop the instrument. Drawing has not been removed from frame but save for toning, appears near fine. Sold for $4,061.

Charles Schulz Hand-Drawn Snoopy Illustration — For a Benefit Concert in Santa Rosa, California & With Concert Poster Signed by 3 Grateful Dead Members & Sammy Hagar

Charles Schulz original hand-drawing of Snoopy, signed by Schulz. Illustration of Snoopy in a ranger’s hat and backpack was used for a poster to promote the ”Open Nature” concert on 27 April 1999, with members of the Grateful Dead playing. Drawing is accompanied by the concert poster, signed by Grateful Dead members Bob Weir, Phil Lesh, Mickey Hart and by Van Halen frontman Sammy Hagar. Illustration of Snoopy is complemented by a nature scene of mountains and trees, drawn by Brooks Anderson, and signed ”Brooks ’99”. Lot also includes a laminated pass to the event, also showing the illustration of Snoopy. Schulz illustration measures 8” x 10” inside of black frame measuring 12.5” x 14.5”. Poster measures 13” x 19.5” inside of gold frame measuring 17.5” x 22”. Near fine. Sold for $3,933.

Charles Schulz original drawing of Snoopy. Single frame sketch of Snoopy wearing a winter hat and playing hockey was likely drawn as part of one of the ”Peanuts” books published in 1958, as the United Features Syndicate label is present at the bottom edge. Paper measures 8” x 7.5”, matted to an overall size of 13” x 13”. Behind the mat is a typed letter signed ”Sparky”, Schulz’s nickname. Faint toning and three very small stains, else near fine. Sold for $3,049.

Charles Schulz Hand-Drawn Sketch of Snoopy in ”A New Peanuts Book Featuring Snoopy” — Without Inscription

Charles Schulz sketch of Snoopy, also signed by Schulz, within a first edition of ”A New Peanuts Book Featuring Snoopy”, published in New York: Rhinehart & Co., 1958. The beloved ”Peanuts” canine is sketched in profile in blue ballpoint on the half-title page, and signed by Schulz underneath the sketch. This Snoopy-centered book is the fifth ”Peanuts” book and features publisher’s R on the copyright page as a first edition. Unpaginated book with a pair of four-panel comics on every page is bound in pictorial paper softcovers. Measures 5.25” x 8”. Mild discoloration to covers, light uniform toning and tear to one interior page. Overall very good to near fine condition. Sold for $1,951.

Charles Schulz Hand Drawn Portrait of Charlie Brown From 1955 — Measures a Very Large 18” x 24”

Charles Schulz signed hand drawn sketch of his ”Peanuts” character Charlie Brown. Schulz drew the piece at the Minneapolis School of Art in 1955 when he was living in Minneapolis, just 5 years after the first publication of the ”Peanuts” strip. Composed on newsprint in felt tip pen, drawing measures 18” x 24”. Small tear with paper loss to upper right and a few small closed tears to margin. Matted to board measuring 22” x 28”. Very good condition. An extremely large and rare drawing from the 1950s. Sold for $1,250.

Charles Schulz Drawing of Snoopy Playing Hockey

Charles Schulz hand drawing of Snoopy, commissioned for an event in Santa Rosa, California, where Schulz made his home and in 1969, opened the Redwood Empire Ice Arena. Snoopy here wears a winter hat and carries a hockey stick over his shoulder with a sign bearing applied text that reads, “Santa Rosa / Junior Hockey / Club”. A 1958 copyright tag appears at bottom, indicating the drawing may have appeared in one of the earlier “Peanuts” books. Drawing is matted atop a copy of Snoopy holding a hockey stick with a large label, “Santa Rosa / Senior / Olympics”. Entire mat measures 11″ x 19″. Near fine. Sold for $1,249.

Large sketch of Snoopy hand-drawn by his creator, Charles Schulz, within ”The Charlie Brown Dictionary”. New York: Word Publishing Co., 1973. Schulz draws a three-quarter sketch of Snoopy smiling at the viewer, measuring 5.5” x 8” with signature. Black felt-tip sketch appears on the front free endpaper of book which measures 8.5” x 11.25”. Sketch is inscribed to Nanette Osoro, whose label appears on the front pastedown. Overall in very good condition with a small chip to top of sketch page and ”I Love” with arrow written in pencil. Some discoloration and wear to boards, but internally near fine. Sold for $1,000.

Charles Schulz signed drawing of Snoopy, happily playing hockey. Drawn upon the front free endpaper of ”A Boy Named Charlie Brown”, Schulz inscribes the drawing, ”For Hilda Turriff / with every best wish – Charles M. Schulz”. First edition was published in 1969 by United Feature Syndicate, Inc. Large book with dust jacket measures 8.75” x 11”, and sketch of Snoopy (without inscription) measures 4.75” x 5.75”. Dust jacket is chipped, in very good condition. Ownership stamp to half-title page, book is otherwise near fine. Light toning to sketch page, otherwise near fine. Sold for $938.
