Sell Your Pablo Picasso Centaure et Visage A R 188

Pablo Picasso began creating ceramic works later in his career, beginning in 1947, so that his work could be obtainable by more people. He found the craft relaxing compared to laborious and taxing painting. Picasso created about 9,000 ceramic pieces at Madoura Pottery in the South of France and the first items made were modest and practical items, such as plates and bowls.

Pablo Picasso began regularly working with clay after visiting the Madoura workshop in 1946. The first pieces he created were practical and simple items such as plates and bowls. He then started to craft more elaborate objects such as pitchers and vases. Many of these pieces resemble animal figures or were inspired by Greek mythology. We will be auctioning Pablo Picasso Centaure et Visage A R 188  in our January 2019 auction. Sold for $7,350.
