Here is the description: Queen of Latin Music, Selena’s Official 1994 Tejano Music Award for Album of the Year — Just a Year Before Her Tragic Death Rare Tejano Music Award bestowed upon singing legend Selena in 1994 for Album of the Year. Her album, “Selena Live!” took home the coveted award that year in an ongoing sweep of the awards ceremony, particularly for Best Female Vocalist that lasted for twelve years. “Selena Live!” was recorded at a free concert at the Memorial Coliseum in Corpus Christi, Texas on 7 February 1993 and featured a wide variety of her hits over the past two decades. Sadly, just a year after receiving this award, the Latin icon would die at the young age of 23 in a vicious murder by the former president of her fan club. Award features a lucite star perched atop a wooden pyramid-shaped base with plaque engraved: “14th Annual Tejano Music Awards / Selena Live / Album of the Year (Orchestra/Group) / Selena Quintanilla / March 13, 1994 / San Antonio, Texas / Texas Talent Musicians Association”. Award measures 8.5″ x 8.5″ x 5″ deep. Minor scratches to lucite star and dings to wood along base, else very good to near fine. Original award maker sticker affixed to bottom. Sold for $4,867. The Tejano Music Awards honor Latin music and Selena became one of the show’s all-time top-winning artists. Her song “Tu Solo Tu” took home the coveted award at the 16th annual ceremony. Awarded posthumously, as the Latin icon one year prior at the young age of 23 was killed by the former president of her fan club. Award features a lucite star perched atop a lucite pyramid-shaped hollow base with two separate plaques perched inside, the first engraved, “Song of the Year / Tu Solo Tu / F. Valdez Leal – Selena y Los Dinos / TTMA March 23, 1996”, and the second behind it, “Tejano Music Awards San Antonio”. Measures 8″ x 9″ x 5.75″ deep. Very minor glue residue visible through lucite beneath star, else near fine condition overall. Sold for $4,139.

Signature was acquired in 1994 at the studios of KQQK, a Tejano music radio station in Houston. Pale yellow Samick-brand acoustic guitar is additionally signed by other Tejano musicians. Rare Selena twice-signed ”Preciosa” album, released by her band Selena y Los Dinos in 1988. Selena inscribes the front of the LP, ”To Edward / Stay super sweet & cute / Selena / 1988”, and signs the back with her full name ”Selena Quintanilla / 1988”. The rest of her band also sign the back above their images; all signatures rendered in ballpoint pen. Some creasing and mild abrasions including edgewear, overall in very good condition.
