Auguste Rodin ALS

Auguste Rodin letter signed from Paris. Rodin, of course, was the world renowned sculptor of “The Thinker.” Letter written in French on 29 June (possibly 1915), to Armand Dayot, thanks him for the beautiful “foreword” and paying his compliments to “Mrs. and Miss Dayot”. Letter is signed “A. Rodin” by the artist. 1pp. measures 4.25″ x 7″. Light abrasion along a vertical line, overall very good. Sold for $1,182.

French sculptor Auguste Rodin autograph note signed upon his own business card. The creator of the world-famous sculpture ”The Thinker” inscribes a message in French that translates: ”Dear Madam, my dear friend: Please be so kind as to excuse me, as I am not yet settled in. A. Rodin”. Measures 3.5” x 2”. Light toning, else near fine. Sold for $686.
