Nicknamed “First Lady of the American Theatre”, actress Helen Hayes career spanned 70 years, earning her the impressive “Showbiz Award Grand Slam”, or EGOT status — a prestigious title shared by just 11 performers including Hayes who have won an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony.

During the first two years of the awards, Tonys were shaped as interesting objects, and Hayes’ Tony is a powder compact, designed to hold heavy theater make-up.

In space-related items, we sold Apollo 15 Hand Controller Used by Astronaut Al Worden to Fly to the Moon. Breaking auction estimates, the item sold for $72,556.

The grip was used at various points in the mission and helped to adjust the attitude of the spacecraft during flight at many incredible tense, critical moments in the journey.
