Zane Grey handwrites and signs a check, dated 12 February 1937. The dentist from Zanesville, Ohio, who wrote a series of popular Western novels, writes a check to ''Mrs Zane Grey'' for $33.10 on the Security First National Bank of Los Angeles. Grey, whose most popular novel, ''The Riders of the Purple Sage,'' was published in 1912, published ''West of the Pecos'' the year of this check. Grey's wife endorses the check, ''Mrs Zane Grey''. Lina Ellise Grey, her full name, is stamped on the verso of the check. Near fine.
