Interesting handwritten signed recollection on Leonard Nimoy as William Shatner perceived him. Nimoy would serve as Shatner's best man at his 1997 wedding, though by the end of Nimoy's life they were no longer talking. Composed on his personal stationery, Shatner writes, ''My first impression of Leonard was his height. I mean he was really tall. His black hair and dark eyes added to a dramatic appearance. His voice was deep and that dark voice and dark look gave him a presumed character. I say presumed because he wasn't dark - mind you he could get depressed and retreat into himself but that would happen in his private moments. Actually he was funny, intelligent and friendly. So you can imagine on first meeting him you could be intimadated [sic] - but soon the sun would come out and the son would come out and the warmth of his personality would shine. He had great charm, his interest in people endeared him to many - so really this note is sort of a meme of the various aspects of Leonard the totality of which constituted someone you would like to know - I liked to know and as the years went on I knew him better and better - I saw that some of his charm masked darker feelings - ghosts and demons we all have - but that's a story for another time - William Shatner''. Two pages on one sheet measures 7.25'' x 10.25''. Near fine condition. Also with an LOA by William Shatner.
William Shatner on Leonard Nimoy: ''...His black hair and dark eyes added to a dramatic appearance...I saw that some of his charm masked darker feelings - ghosts and demons we all have...''
